Many of you know, I'm highly opinionated...so when I saw this article, I had to indulge! I too agree that Facebook is NOT for children. Most parents who allow their children under the age of 13 to have an acct on FB obviously do not even know that FB has an agreement that no one under the age of 13 is allowed to have an acct on FB. I know personally several under the age of 13, who are on FB...which means, they lied on their acct just to get on this social network!

I think kids today are growing up way too fast...are gaining access into things they shouldn't be getting into, and computer use is really something that should be monitored.
Personally, my kids are allowed on 3 sites...Justice, Nickelodeon, and Play Pink. They ask me before they even go on it...they do not have free range to go on it whenever they feel...the internet is a scary place for kids but I think FB is def not children friendly! Again, just my opinion.

Well, you know how I feel about this topic--I'm right there with you. Alex and John don't use their FB accounts because Anthony was so strict with them, but honestly I think it's best. Some of their friends had very suggestive photos on their pages and this was when they were barely 13! I don't think a lot of these parents are keeping an eye out for what goes on "online." I think technology is a great thing, but you also have to remember that it's an open window giving anyone, anywhere access to your kids if you're not careful. Without the proper usage and supervision it can be very dangerous.

I agree. My children are of age and have to be friends with me to stay on it so I can see what they are doing. I allowed my daughter on before she was ready and once realized deactivated her account. I look at the pages probably 3x a day. I am also friends with alot of thier friends on there so I see more than just their things. But I have an open and honest relationship with them so I find out more by just them telling me. -Steph
