Today was the BIG day for my dad...they finally were able to get the tumor out! The doc said it was the "most difficult" surgery he has ever done...the lymph nodes were still so enlarged, he had to cut thru the lymphoma to get to the tumor on the pancreas...something he has never done!!! He stressed that he was not sure if the enlarged nodes were all due to lymphoma or if the cancer had spread to his lymph nodes.
At any rate, he went in at 8am, they removed the tumor by noon, and he was in recover by 1:30pm...LONG and stressful day...but a good step in the right direction! Now we see how he does with recovery...it's still VERY risky and complicated but we are taking baby steps!!!
