Celebration of LIFE

proudly wearing my dad's Eagle's sweatshirt

Friday, Feb 25th, we had my dad's funeral.  It was beautiful...every bit of it.  The church was full of friends and family, near and far!!!  The Marine Corp was there to honor my dad as well...it was the most touching thing I've ever witnessed...the folding of the flag, the gun salute, Taps playing.  The only bad thing that day, was due to so much rain, his grave site sunk in.  So, with that said, we could not bury him...we will do that on Monday.  BUT, they were able to do the Military salute right outside of the church...and the most amazing part was that it stopped raining while we were outside for this, AND the sun came out too...as soon as it was over, and we got into our cars, it POURED...wow, that was the work of my dad for sure!!!!
Afterwards, we all headed to celebrate his life, at Talleyville...awesome time...then back to "10 East Tavern" with friends and family, celebrating the way my dad would want us to!!!  All I can say is THANK YOU to everyone who came and showed their love and support...we couldn't have done this w/o YOU!!!!

What a wonderful and fitting way to celebrate your dad's life! I wish I could have been there with you, but you were in my thoughts all day. I love how the sun briefly came out while you were outside. Definitely the workings of your dad--when stuff like that happens I call it "pennies from heaven."

Thank you, Janet! It truly was a great day to celebrate my dad...thank you for coming to the viewing as well...it's great to have the support of so many great friends and family!! The rain stopping and the sun popping out at that exact time of the Miltary honors was definitely the working of my DAD!!! It was amazing!!!!
